We rented bikes one day and went on a guided bike tour the other day. The bikes are amazing (new material: sram eagle gear shift 🙂 etc. ). And it was defenetly worth going on a guided tour: he showed us the countryside on gravel roads which we would never have found on our own. Thanks a lot for the great fun
Took the ride on 19th October. Excellent company, from initial email contact with Paul through to completing the ride. Making contact only 10-days before venturing to the Algarve, I received a response and ongoing communication from Paul almost immediately, unfortunately because I’d left it too late, I could only book one guided tour. I preferred to take a guided tour as I had only been in the area once before, many years ago, although if I’d opted to ride on my lonesome I did have the option of a Garmin.
We had a group of 7, including our guide Marco. The weather was kind, after tipping it down during the night, the ride was just over 20-miles and Marco tailored the pace to suit our group condition. Beautiful scenery along the coastline and through the nature reserve
I cant knock the service from any of the team, all very friendly and helpful, I’ll definitely be calling in when next in the Algarve, but wont leave it 5-years between visits.
If you have a reasonable level of MTB fitness, this ride is a good leg stretcher to something more technical. Book early to avoid disappointment. Thanks All.

Itinerary
Highlights
This tour starts at Ribeira Parque (the old bus station) in Albufeira old town. We are soon into quiet, unspoilt countryside, passing Sir Cliff Richard’s famous vineyards in Guia, and along pleasant country lanes to the coast.
Passing by the Salgados Lagoon, we should see a variety of birdlife and maybe a turtle or two swimming in the lakes. Our ride here is along specially constructed boardwalks, which makes for easy cycling. With the high rise resort of Armação de Pera in the background to the west, and the traditional old town of Pera nearby, we continue east through the golf resort of Salgados, finding more cyclable boardwalks as we continue east along the coast with lovely views down to some great beaches.
As the coast gets rockier we stay a little inland away from the cliff edge and then cruise down to the colourful new marina on the edge of Albufeira . Through the Marina and onwards up a small hill, we can now see the spectacular main beach of Albufeira. Carefully navigating a few narrow cobbled streets of the old Town, we are soon back at our starting point by the old bus station.
